Why it's healthier:  Spinach and kale are both nutrient-dense vegetables high in vitamin C and K. These green leafy vegetables are high in antioxidants and minerals that help lower cholesterol as well as protect against cancer and heart disease.

Healthy ingredients: Vitamin A, vitamin B6, manganese, calcium, copper, potassium, magnesium, fiber.

Longevity Smoothie

Superfoods: berries, banana, kale/spinach, nuts, seeds, green tea

Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen mixed berries (any type)
  • ½ to 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup loosely packed kale or spinach leaves
  • 6 nuts (any combo of almonds, peanut, macadamia, pecans, walnut, pistachios)
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds or ground flaxseeds
  • ½ cup green tea, chilled
  • 3 to 5 ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place all the ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
